JULY 2020 #3 Desert Mission

Neighbors Helping Neighbors in LD20

LD20 has the most caring and compassionate volunteers!  Despite the pandemic, the work continues at Desert Mission Food Bank to help our fellow neighbor with food insecurities.  Every Wednesday AM, for just a couple of hours throughout the summer, a small group of LD20 volunteers have sorted food and helped pack it for distribution.  This activity is very rewarding because you know you are helping others less fortunate.  If you’d like to help out and be included with this caring group, please contact Chris Gehlker, our Dems Give Back Committee Chairperson at [email protected] or 602-370-0128.

Maricopa County Board of Supervisors District 4 news

If you live in the MC BOS District 4, then don’t forget to write in the name: Suzanne Story on your ballot. There is a very clear set of instructions which can be found at www.writein4.com This must be done so that we can get Suzanne on the ballot in November. For the most part, if you live in the western side of LD20, there’s a good chance you’re in District 4. Share this information!

Be a poll worker – help preserve Democracy!

Maricopa County Democratic Party (MCDP) is looking for volunteers who can help out at the polls by being a poll watcher. Your role would be to observe the activities at the polls and report back any incidents of voter intimidation. It’s imperative that everyone who wants to vote, be able to vote and not feel threatened by anyone. MCDP will provide training. This year, more than ever, this activity will be critical to preserve our democracy. If you can help out, please contact: Janet Wilson at [email protected] and provide your name, address, & phone #.  Thank you.

Primary Ballot in the Mail!

Ballots were mailed July 8. Check the status of your ballot, make a one-time or permanent request to vote by mail, get a digital registration card showing your precinct and districts, or update your address or registration at Be Ballot Ready for 2020 Elections. Let friends and family know about this service.
