Let’s make some more history!
In LD20, I am happy to say we had 46.55% of our Dems (18,786 of our 40,358) cast their votes in the Primary. We were very close to the countywide turnout of 47.91% (366,376 out of 764,774). If you compare these numbers to 2018 and 2016, we have been breaking lots of records. However, there is still more work which needs to be done. To that end, I’m happy to say that we have eight PCs who have assumed the role of LD20 Regional Team Leads to help drive more of our D’s to come out to vote. Please give congratulations to: Scott Sawottke, Chris Gehlker, Evan Short, LeeAnn Medlock Short, Linda Dooling, Rivko Knox, Cindy Malicki, and Sharon Haynes. If you’re a PC, you will likely receive a call from one of them to find out what you can do to help drive up our percentages. We’ll be sharing more about this in upcoming newsletters and LD meetings.
Let’s continue to make history in LD20 for the General Election!
Let’s make some history!
It’s time we focus on all of the great things going on in our county and LD20. Did you know that we have broken our all-time high number of elected Democrat PCs for the upcoming cycle? LD20 broke their own record for highest number of elected PCs to start the cycle at 71. This is the first time ever where we have Democrats running for all of the Board of Supervisor positions along with County-wide positions. We continue to break records in LD20 with our Primary turnout at 26.5% landing us in the middle of the pack for all of the county districts which is an improvement from prior cycles. If you know someone with a ballot, tell them to turn it in. Let’s continue to make history in LD20 for the General Election, too.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors in LD20
LD20 has the most caring and compassionate volunteers! Despite the pandemic, the work continues at Desert Mission Food Bank to help our fellow neighbor with food insecurities. Every Wednesday AM, for just a couple of hours throughout the summer, a small group of LD20 volunteers have sorted food and helped pack it for distribution. This activity is very rewarding because you know you are helping others less fortunate. If you’d like to help out and be included with this caring group, please contact Chris Gehlker, our Dems Give Back Committee Chairperson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 602-370-0128.
